Dr. Debra Stein is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in child, adolescent and family therapies. She holds a PhD in Child/Clinical Psychology, an EdS in School Psychology, and an additional Master's degree in Educational Supervision. She received postdoctoral training at the Contemporary Center for Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies, the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology, and received Elias social skills training through Rutger's University.

Dr. Stein began her career in 1980 as a school psychologist. During the next 15 years, she chaired numerous child study teams where she supervised teams of social workers, learning consultants, and special education teachers. Her responsibilities also included the management of hundreds of special education programs. In addition, Dr Stein was an Adjunct Professor and Acting Director of the school psychology department at Seton Hall University.

Dr. Stein's extensive experience led her to open a private practice more than 30 years ago. She lectures extensively to health professionals and school and parent groups on a variety of topics including effective discipline for preschoolers, school-age children, and adolescents as well as special education diagnosis, education and placement. She supervises mental health professionals and psychologists in training. Dr. Stein is a faculty member of the Southeast Florida Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. Her articles have been featured in several newspapers and the American Red Cross asked her to counsel children after 9/11.

Dr. Stein provides children and their families with a supportive, caring atmosphere in which to pursue their personal treatment goals.
