Dr. Jay, as his patients call him, is a graduate of Ohio State University, New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry and the Adelphi School of Social Work.  For over 30 years he treated thousands of patients suffering from unremitting physical pain.

He then became a psychotherapist treating the emotional components of chronic pain, psychological trauma, and sexual and physical abuse.

He was trained at the Dept. of Psychiatry at U-Penn in the treatment of insomnia.

Dr. Goldman is both a dentist and a licensed clinical social worker.  He was a clinical instructor at the Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical School in New York City and then served as Clinical Director of the Orofacial - TMJ Pain Clinic at New York University College of Dentistry.

He has taught dentists, physicians, and medical and dental residents since 1984, covering topics on Chronic Pain Management, Trauma, Insomnia, and PTSD.

He is formally trained and Certified in EMDR Therapy --- a therapy focused on Trauma Resolution and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  He is also certified in the State of Florida to provide Supervision for licensure.

Many with addiction to drugs & alcohol have negative core beliefs about themselves.  People who have had a troubled childhood also have these negative beliefs about themselves.  Dr. Jay integrates Schema Therapy with EMDR Therapy very effectively helping his patients heal from these emotional wounds as well as their chronic physical pain.

The combination of dentist, teacher and psychotherapist has made him uniquely qualified to treat a wide variety of problems such as Chronic Pain, Trauma, PTSD, Insomnia, Nightmares, OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Dissociative Disorders and Addiction.

Dr. Goldman spends many hours at conferences keeping current and on the “cutting edge” in order to give his patients the best in care.  And for many years, he has given hours each week volunteering for a variety of charities including treating Veterans with PTSD for no fee.
